Frequently Asked Questions
Seller FAQ
How do I sign up to be a seller?
Anyone can list a card for sale. All you have to do is login to your Center Stage account, pick a card, and tap the sell button. After you list a card, you should receive an email from Center Stage with a link to create a Stripe Express account. You must complete your registration in order to be paid. You can also access your Stripe Express account in the Profile > Settings menu.
What are the fees?
Center Stage takes a 10% fee on the sale price (not including the price of shipping). That’s it. No transaction or other hidden fees.
If you sell $500+ in a calendar month, you get 1% cash back.
If you sell $1,000+ in a calendar month, you get 2% cash back.
If you sell $2,000+ in a calendar month, you get 3% cash back.
When do I get paid?
Funds will be transferred to your Stripe account three days after delivery of the order to the buyer’s address (as confirmed by tracking), unless the buyer has filed a claim. You can manage payouts from your Stripe Connect dashboard.
If the buyer has filed a claim, we will investigate and do our best to quickly find resolution.
How is shipping handled?
Center Stage will purchase shipping on behalf of all sellers. If you pay for shipping, those fees will not be reimbursed.
We believe that providing a simple and consistent shipping experience will improve the collecting experience for everyone.
Our simple 3-step shipping policy:
1. Wrap cards between two pieces of cardboard and place them in a bubble mailer
2. Print prepaid shipping label and attach to bubble mailer
3. Drop in a USPS mailbox within 3 business days of payment
What does the M icon stand for?
The M icon stands for “Master” copy, which mean the image and title have been verified as correct. Using the Master copy to list a card for sale will result in greater visibility and trust to other users.
I listed a card for sale. What’s next?
You should have received an email from help@centerstagehq.com the first time you listed a card for sale. If you did not receive an email, please make sure you have the right email address on file. Go to your profile > settings > Account to edit your email address. Please also make sure emails from help@centerstagehq.com are not filtered as junk.
If someone buys your card, you will get an email from help@centerstagehq.com with a prepaid shipping label. You will have 3 business days to ship, and you will get paid 3 days after successful delivery. We process payments at 9pm PT every day of the week.
In order to get paid, you have to set up your Stripe Connect account. Go to your profile > settings > Stripe Connect.
Buyer FAQ
Can I return or cancel my order?
No, all sales are final.
What is Center Stage Buyer Protection
We will issue a full refund if your item is never shipped, is damaged, or arrives not as described.
When will my order be shipped?
Your order should be shipped within three business days of purchase.
If your order is not shipped within three business days of purchase, we will put your payment on hold and open a claim with the seller. You will have two options: (1) get a full refund or (2) accept a late shipment.
What if my item is damaged or not as described?
You have two days from the date of delivery (as confirmed by tracking) to file a claim. After two days, the sale will be considered final. If you file a claim, we will put your payment on hold until the claim is resolved. In order to prevent fraudulent claims, unsuccessful claims will count against your Center Stage score.
Example: If the item was delivered on January 1, you have until 11:59pm PST on January 3 to file a claim.
You can file a claim here.
General
What is Center Stage?
Center Stage is a mobile app designed to make collecting fun and easy.
Is Center Stage free?
Center Stage is a freemium product. We offer Gold and Silver memberships for enhanced features. You can find more info on the home page.
What happened to the Android app?
We have temporarily suspended development on Android to focus on iOS. This will help us bring the best experience to our users.
Does Center Stage only work on raw cards?
No, you can scan both graded and raw cards.
Does Center Stage detect the grade of a card?
Yes, the app can detect the grade of a card (PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC) and will show the pop report if the slab is correctly detected (membership required).
I scanned a graded card, so why is the raw price showing?
When you scan a card, you will see the most recent transaction under the image of the card. If you scroll down, you will see transactions broken down by grade/raw. We present the data in this way because we believe it provides the most useful context for our users to form an opinion about the value of a card. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve this experience, please let us know!
Why do search results sometimes show duplicates of the same card?
This is a known issue and a side effect of how we process our data. We are actively working to merge duplicate results to improve your experience. In the meantime, please make sure to swipe through all the results to get a complete picture of sales history.
Why do I keep getting random search results?
Too much movement, light reflections and shadows on the card can negatively affect search results. Please check out our tips and tricks section above for ways to improve your experience. Also, if you have a very rare card, there is a chance that the card is not in our system.
Why is my card not in your system?
We currently monitor a handful of key websites for sales transactions. If your card has not been sold on the websites we monitor, then we will not have your card in our system.
Can I manually add my card?
Not at this time. There are a number of issues that arise if we allow our users to add new cards that we do not currently support. However, we know that users want this feature, so we are thinking through how best to design it.
Why can’t I add a certain grade to my collection?
You can only add grades that have a sales history on the marketplaces we monitor. There are a number of issues that arise if we allow our users to add new grades that we do not currently support. If you cannot find a specific grade, you can always save the card as “Other” and add a note.
UPDATE: We are working on allowing you to save any grade from the major grading companies (PSA, BGS, SGC, CGC). Coming soon.
I signed out of my profile and now my collection is empty. What happened?
You need to be signed in to see your collection. If you added cards to your collection while signed out, those cards will automatically be moved into your profile collection when you sign in.
I have been tracking my collection on a spreadsheet. Is there a way to import my collection into Center Stage?
Not at this time. If this is something that would significantly enhance your experience, please let us know!
Can I export my collection into a .csv or Excel file?
Yes, export is now available with a Gold or Silver membership.
How often are card prices updated?
We update card prices multiple times per day. From time to time, updates will be paused 24-36 hours for routine maintenance. If you see that a card’s sales history has not been updated for more than 24 hours, please let us know.
Where can I buy or sell a card for the price shown?
There are many different marketplaces where you can buy or sell cards (e.g. eBay, MySlabs, Heritage Auctions, PWCC, Goldin Auctions, etc.). However, we cannot guarantee that you can buy or sell a card for the price shown. Cards derive value from supply and demand, which changes on a daily basis. Our app is intended to provide you with the information you need to form an educated opinion on what a card might be worth, so that you can make an informed decision.
