Frequently Asked Questions
What is Center Stage?
Center Stage is your digital hub for sports cards. We provide best-in-class visual search to help you discover the value of your sports cards and manage your collection.
Is Center Stage free?
Yes, our visual search, price guide and collection management tools are free.
Why is the Android app in beta? When will the Android app get full functionality?
If you are an Android user, thank you for your patience! Developing on Android is complex because of all the different types of phone hardware and software. We currently do not have the resources to develop the Android app at the same pace as the iPhone app, but please know that we are working hard to bring you the same experience as our iPhone users.
Does Center Stage only work on raw cards?
No, you can scan both graded and raw cards.
Does Center Stage detect the grade of a card?
No, our app does not currently detect the grade of the card, but we are working on it.
I scanned a graded card, so why is the raw price showing?
When you scan a card, you will see the most recent transaction under the image of the card. If you scroll down, you will see transactions broken down by grade/raw. We present the data in this way because we believe it provides the most useful context for our users to form an opinion about the value of a card. If you have any suggestions on how we can improve this experience, please let us know!
Why do search results sometimes show duplicates of the same card?
This is a known issue and a side effect of how we process our data. We are actively working to merge duplicate results to improve your experience. In the meantime, please make sure to swipe through all the results to get a complete picture of sales history.
Why do I keep getting random search results?
Too much movement, light reflections and shadows on the card can negatively affect search results. Please check out our tips and tricks section above for ways to improve your experience. Also, if you have a very rare card, there is a chance that the card is not in our system.
Why is my card not in your system?
We currently monitor a handful of key websites for sales transactions. If your card has not been sold on the websites we monitor, then we will not have your card in our system.
Can I manually add my card?
Not at this time. There are a number of issues that arise if we allow our users to add new cards that we do not currently support. However, we know that users want this feature, so we are thinking through how best to design it.
Why can’t I add a certain grade to my collection?
You can only add grades that have a sales history on the websites we monitor. There are a number of issues that arise if we allow our users to add new grades that we do not currently support. However, we know that users want this feature, so we are thinking through how best to design it.
I signed out of my profile and now my collection is empty. What happened?
You need to be signed in to see your collection. If you added cards to your collection while signed out, those cards will automatically be moved into your profile collection when you sign in.
I have been tracking my collection on a spreadsheet. Is there a way to import my collection into Center Stage?
Not at this time. If this is something that would significantly enhance your experience, please let us know!
Can I export my collection into a .csv or Excel file?
Not at this time. If this is something that would significantly enhance your experience, please let us know!
How often are card prices updated?
We update card prices multiple times per day. From time to time, updates will be paused 24-36 hours for routine maintenance. If you see that a card’s sales history has not been updated for more than 24 hours, please let us know.
Where can I buy or sell a card for the price shown?
There are many different marketplaces where you can buy or sell cards (e.g. eBay, MySlabs, Heritage Auctions, PWCC, Goldin Auctions, etc.). However, we cannot guarantee that you can buy or sell a card for the price shown. Cards derive value from supply and demand, which changes on a daily basis. Our app is intended to provide you with the information you need to form an educated opinion on what a card might be worth, so that you can make an informed decision.
